Our names are Joseph and Brandi. Our journey to becoming a family has been a long one. Very early in our relationship, we knew we wanted a family one day, and we had always envisioned ourselves as parents. We began trying to start our family right after we got married, but infertility issues have prevented us from growing our family. Having been through multiple rounds of fertility treatments with no luck, we decided that the time, money, and emotions we were dedicating to this process could be better spent on another avenue to parenthood: adoption. 


Adoption is an option that I, Brandi, am familiar with. When I was 10 years old, I found out my mom placed my sister for adoption. Many adoptions were closed back then, so, unfortunately, we know nothing about her. While this has been painful for my family, my mother knew she did what was best for her as she was very young and unable to give her the life she felt she deserved. From my experience with adoption and knowing that it’s how we will be growing our family, I can promise that your child will know their adoption story from the beginning. They will know of you, your courage, strength, and the love you have for them. You will never feel the pain of not knowing them or of them not knowing you. 


We promise to provide your child with a loving and nurturing home. We will raise them with the values and morals of putting family first, recognizing and embracing our differences, celebrating our unique journey to becoming a family and celebrating the little things that make us who we are. We have so many loving friends and family members that are supportive and excited to welcome your child into their hearts, and we plan to lean on them for support and guidance along the way.


We have so much love in our lives; we know our lives will be enriched by sharing that love with a child. We hope this book will give you an idea of who we are and what we have to offer your child. Meet Joe

Joe is one of the most open-minded and positive people I know. His love for all genres of music, movies, and games is a great example of his versatility. He is always welcoming and accepting of anyone he meets, without hesitation, noting differences only to cherish them, not to judge. He is also fun-loving, always playing tricks on our friends and making us laugh. His impressions of Disney characters are hilarious, and his facial expressions are priceless. Another thing about Joe is that he loves tattoos and has many of them, each symbolizing different loves and passions in his life.


One of the many reasons I love Joe so much is his ability to roll with any surprise or obstacle and always stay positive. He has a grounding presence that helps me when I feel overwhelmed, and his patience with me and others in our lives is truly admirable. Family and quality time together are his biggest priorities, and he enjoys all kinds of activities. I am beyond excited to watch him become a Dad, as he has already shown such a natural ability to bond and play with our God-Sons and other kids in our lives. Joe is an amazing partner who never hesitates to share the workload for chores and errands and has a way of making anything fun. His reliability and trustworthiness are just a few of the things I adore about him. He is a wonderful husband, and I have no doubt that he will make a fantastic Dad because of his patience, tenderness, and fun personality.

Brandi is truly an inspiration! She has spoken at many high schools, sharing her experiences and encouraging kids to embrace their uniqueness and speak up about their individual needs. She has a special ability to pick up on the emotional needs of those around her and uses those feelings to help others build their confidence. With her passion and caring nature, she is an inspiring role model, not just for me, but for everyone who knows her. These are the things that are going to make her an amazing mom one day. She is my best friend, and I could not dream of a better partner.

Joe & Brandi - Getting to Know Us

Our Story

I remember the day Joe and I met like it was yesterday. We were both teenagers then and met at a roller-skating rink in 2006. Joe saw me standing by myself and skated over to talk to me. He led with a classic pickup line- “Do you come here often?”

Two days later, we were on our first date. We were both so nervous and excited. While we waited for the movie to start, we played the game Hang Man. I spelt out the words, “ARE YOU GOING TO KISS ME NOW?” Joe smiled and said, “I want it to be special, so not yet.” 

On our third date, he handed me a piece of paper that had a partial Hang Man game started, spelling out “CAN I KISS YOU NOW?”. Of course, I said yes, and we’ve been together ever since.

We moved in together right after high school, and then in 2011, during the 4th of July fireworks, he proposed to me – and I said “yes”!

In 2013, we had planned on having a big wedding in the fall. Unfortunately, a member of our family got sick unexpectedly, and we didn't want them to miss out on our special day. So, on Valentine's Day of that year, we had a small, intimate ceremony at our church with only our immediate family present. Later that year, in November, we had a big vow renewal party with over 200 guests. It was incredible to be able to experience such an important day in two different ways. We cherish our unique story and history and wouldn't change a thing.

Our Home

We absolutely adore our home! When we bought our house in 2020, our dream was to start a family, and we are thrilled to see that dream becoming a reality. Our 2-story home has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a dining room, a small attic and basement, and plenty of storage space. The open-concept area on the upper floor is a perfect play space for kids, filled with our collection of board games. The backyard is our little oasis, fenced in and shaded by beautiful trees. We love the in-ground fire pit and the views of our neighbors' nice backyards. During the summer, we enjoy soaking in the small 3-foot-deep pool and can't wait to add some fun toys for our little one. The location of our home is perfect as it is located on a quiet street with very little traffic, and we can walk to a couple of parks nearby. We also love the convenience of being less than 5 minutes away from Brandi's work.


In preparation for the arrival of our newest family member, we were very excited to set up our nursery. The current nursery setup includes a crib, changing table, rocking chair, and dresser. Our theme is Winnie the Pooh, but we had to add a little bit of Star Wars too.

    We have so many fun things in our community that we love and can’t wait to do with our child.

    -   Community pool with zero depth entry, a waterslide, and water play attractions. Soon to be added, a tube waterslide, splash pad, aquatic climbing wall, and an 18-hole mini-golf course.

    -   Children’s Museum and performing arts centers

    -   Sledding hills and an outdoor ice skating rink

    -   Lots of parks with playgrounds and sports fields

    -   Nature Center – 3 minutes away from our home is a beautiful nature center of the river, where families can explore and learn about wildlife.

    -  Farmers market – less than 5 minutes from our home, hosted every weekend all summer long, with entertainment and fresh veggies and flowers.

    -  YMCA – We became members in early 2023 and love all they have to offer.

    Joe's Family

    I feel so grateful to have such a wonderful, big family that I am close to. My Dad and I have a special bond, and we enjoy hunting and fishing together. He is very involved in our lives and can't wait to be “Papa” again. He loves sharing his wisdom and telling fun stories. My Mom and her husband live nearby and have always been there for us anytime we need help or advice. They are excited to help babysit their newest grandchild and provide spiritual guidance as a religious mentor.


    I am the oldest of 3. My sisters are two of my best friends, and we are all protective of each other. They are strong-willed women who will teach a niece how to be a strong woman or a nephew how to treat a lady. My sisters' significant others will be great role models for our child, and my 3 step-siblings and their families are thrilled to welcome a new addition to the family. We have a large supportive extended family, and everyone is eager to meet the newest member of our crew.

    • My family means everything to me. We have a strong bond and love to spend time together. My mom and I are very close. She is over-the-moon about becoming a Grandma and has a lot of plans for spoiling our little one! She is such a kind and fun woman, and will help teach them how to be independent, strong, and fun-loving. As the youngest of 11 siblings, she has tons of experience with children and family, and will be an amazing source of guidance and advice for us as new parents. Her boyfriend is also a great guy who loves to make people laugh, and I'm sure our child will adore him too! My sister and I have always been super close, and I'm thrilled that she and her boyfriend live close by so they can spend lots of time with us and our little one. My sister loves the outdoors and knows everything about plants and wildlife. I'm excited for her to share her knowledge with our kid, and take them on plenty of adventures. Of course, she's also looking forward to telling them plenty of embarrassing stories about me. My father passed away a few years ago, but we keep in contact with his family who live in Texas. They are very supportive of our adoption journey and are excited to be the first family to meet our child since we will be staying with them when we come to Texas. I also have a LOT of cousins, aunts, and uncles on my mom’s side, and they are all excited to welcome a new family member to the bunch! We are particularly close with our great uncle Ray who lives a few hours away. We visit him a few times a year at his cabin.

    • Joe & Brandi - A Look Into Our Life

    Our Fur Babies

    Our three fur babies are excited to welcome our human baby to the family. Our oldest is 13-year-old Leo – he is an orange tabby cat. Leo is very social and cuddly. He loves talking to us and greeting our guests that visit. Leo especially loves kids, following them around and rubbing up against them to get pets. He does not look or act his age, and has a lot of playful energy for an older cat.


    Our dog is a 12-year-old pug mix named Archie. He loves doing tricks (for treats, of course) and is a very calm, mellow, and cuddly lapdog. Whenever children visit our home, he follows them around, too, hoping to get pets and snacks. He is a great protector, and he always sleeps near us at night and only barks if something is wrong or someone is outside.

    Our youngest pet is our girl, Gracie. She is a 2-year-old gray and white cat. She is a little more shy than her brothers when she hears loud noises but is very friendly and loyal to those she trusts. She loves watching birds and playing with her many toys. She likes snuggles and will meow/yell at you if you don’t pet her when she wants.

    • Our closest friends are those that we see at least monthly, and have known for over 15 years. We play games, have food and watch the kids play together. We enjoy ball games, concerts, movies, and bonfires as a group. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful friends, and they can’t wait to welcome our child into their lives. 


    We also are involved in our church community. We both serve as Board Members at our church and are excited for our child to become a part of this community.

    • Our God Children

    We have four godsons, ages 2, 8, 12, and 18, who we love spending quality time with. We have a lot of fun when they visit and love taking them to fun places in our community, too. They are so excited for us to become parents, and we know they will protect and love our child like a sibling.

While we cannot imagine the feelings you have or will experience in your decision to create an adoption plan for your child, we hope you feel loved and supported, and we personally want you to know how brave and selfless we think you are. We are Andy and Mandy, and we currently share our home and lives with 2 very different yet equally fun and snuggly doggos, Sophie and Maxx. Andy and I have been married for 8 years and together for just over 20 years. Our early years in our relationship were spent having fun, growing as individuals and as a couple, and then establishing our careers. We knew early into our marriage we wanted a family. We tried for years to grow our family on our own, but through many different tests and treatments, we realized that may not be something we are able to do. Throughout our relationship, we had always been open to adoption; many friends and family have shared their journey with adoption and fostering, so our hearts were always open to this, and we have seen that biology doesn’t define the love and care provided to a child. Because of our family's experience in adoption and fostering, we know the importance of your child understanding their birth story, where they came from, and how truly special they and their birth family are to us.     Hello & Thank You , We’re Bob and Leslie, and we are so thankful you’re taking the time to read about us and consider our family for your adoption plan. We can’t understand everything you are feeling right now, but we know that you are trying to find the right path forward for yourself and your child. We hope we can be a part of that. If you choose us to raise your child, it will be the greatest blessing of our lives. We’ve been married for sixteen years, and we’ve always wanted to grow our family. After a few unsuccessful years trying to conceive naturally, we went to a fertility clinic. We took a lot of supplements and tried multiple rounds of IUI and IVF, but they were also unsuccessful. Conceiving was not in God’s plan for us; that was difficult and sometimes hard to accept. But we both still knew that we wanted to be parents, so we began learning about adoption and speaking to friends who have adopted children, which is how we found Adoption Angels. We have also been fortunate to have friends who were adopted themselves and who have given us insight into adoption. We want to be parents because we know growing up can be so difficult. We want to be there for your child when they need support, encouragement, help, and advice. Or when they just need to know that someone cares about them, loves them, and will always be there. We want to help them discover things they love and see their own talents. We want to nurture their interests so they can pursue things they are interested in and enjoy, to help them lead a happy and fulfilling life. We will do everything we can to ensure your child grows up in a safe and supportive home, surrounded by our community of friends and family. We strongly believe in setting a good example for how to be ethical and honest, providing a good education, and the chance to travel and see the world. Finally, it is important to us that your child always knows the story of their adoption, to know where they came from and who you are as well. That’s why (if you agree as well) we believe in regularly sharing photos, emails, update letters, and annual in-person visits. We promise that if you decide we are the right choice for you and your child, they will always know that the way they came into our family was through an incredible act of sacrifice and love by you.     Hello & Thank You , First off, let's introduce ourselves. Our names are Amy, Hao, and our not so little man James Paul. We want you to know how grateful we are to you for looking at our book. Our goal is for you to get to know who we are in an honest and real way. Adoption has a complex variety of feelings for all parties involved, especially for you. We can't begin to understand the emotional and overwhelming circumstances you have had to face in making these difficult decisions. We want you to know we support you and think that what you are doing is selfless and generous beyond comprehension. From an early age, I knew carrying a child to full term would be highly unlikely. So, when we met, having children was a part of our early conversations. We always wanted a family and knew adoption was going to be how we would become parents. This led us to adopt our beautiful and sweet son, James. We have so much more love to share with another child, and James is waiting with open arms and a welcoming smile. Our upbringing has significantly shaped who we are today, including our parenting style and how we plan for our future. Both of our parents are still married, and observing their relationship through both happy and challenging times has taught us the importance of commitment in maintaining a long-lasting marriage. Our family includes no shortage of caring aunts, fun uncles, and many young cousins to grow up with. One thing you can be certain of is DOTING GRANDPARENTS!! We are blessed that we can go to anyone in our family for guidance, advice, and support. You could not ask for a more dedicated crew of family members.     Hello & Thank You , First, we want to thank you so much for considering us to be the parents of your child and for taking the time to learn a little about our lives! We can't imagine what a difficult time this must be for you, though we don't know what you are feeling. However, we do know that we admire your courage and strength! We are Mike and Tiffany, a fun loving couple from Texas who have been together 10 years and married almost 9! We spent many years trying to conceive a baby on our own, and with no luck, we didn’t want to wait to grow our family any longer. We chose adoption rather than going through IVF and were blessed with our first son in 2022. The experience we have had with his adoption has been so wonderful, and we can’t wait to give him a brother or sister. We have always wanted a big family, as both of ours are relatively small, and we are so grateful for this adoption opportunity because, without it, we wouldn’t be able to have that. Tiffany is a stay-at-home mom currently and will continue to do so. She loves being able to be so involved with raising our children and growing a special bond from the beginning. Also, her parents and grandparents live next door to us, so they will always be surrounded by love and family. While we may never fully know the sacrifice you are making, we are grateful. We have longed to build our family for many years, and it is truly humbling to have you get to know us. We always knew that adoption would be a part of our family, and it has proven to be the biggest blessing in our lives. After we were married, we discovered that we had unknown fertility issues, and that was our sign from the Lord to choose to grow our family through adoption. We adopted our daughter Caroline at birth almost three years ago, and she has brought so much love and joy into our home and family.     Hello & Thank You , Just saying thank you isn't enough for us to express our gratitude for considering us to be adoptive parents. We cannot begin to understand how difficult this decision is and that it is not taken lightly. No matter your decision, you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are Amanda and Spencer. We have been together over ten years and have been married for three. From the very beginning of our relationship, we talked about starting a family, but God had different plans for us. Unfortunately, Amanda has faced health challenges that have led to infertility, which won't allow us to have our own biological children. Adoption has touched both our lives in meaningful ways. Spencer's mother was adopted, and she is ecstatic that we are pursuing this path. In addition, Spencer has two adopted cousins, and I have one as well. Both of our families are loving and supportive of our decision, and we are all ready to share unconditional love with a child. Since we both have relatives who were adopted, we believe it is important for your child to understand their adoption story from the very beginning. We can't imagine how hard this choice must be, and we have SO much respect for you. Your courage is truly admirable. We hope our story will be helpful as you make your choice. We would love to share a little about ourselves, and hopefully, this book will give you a clear picture of who we are! We have grown so much during our years of marriage! Our journey has included buying a house, starting new jobs, surviving a pandemic, experiencing years of infertility and loss, going on many trips, and so much more. Throughout the highs and lows, our relationship has only become stronger. We feel very blessed to have wonderful parents and grandparents who model healthy relationships. They have taught us invaluable lessons and instilled strong morals in us. From the beginning, we have known that we wanted children and planned to have them at a young age. However, we faced three years of infertility and treatments, which ultimately resulted in loss. Going through it all taught us many important lessons and brought us even closer to each other and to God. We have always wanted to adopt, and we feel that now is the right time to do it! For us, raising a child means reading books together before bed, quality family time, lots of outdoor adventures, supporting whatever dreams he/she may have, and a home full of laughter. We value communication, kindness, and passion. Our goal is to create a loving environment that inspires creativity and curiosity, embraces differences, and opens opportunities for learning and growth. We can only imagine the difficulties that come with this decision, but please know that your child will be loved without qualification. We are so excited to begin our adoption journey and bring a child into our family. We are Will & Lorena, and we have been together for almost 7 years. Our path to adoption starts with Will being adopted himself at birth and from a young age, knowing that this was always going to be a part of his family plan. As we began to discuss having a family, Lorena was concerned about getting pregnant due to her infertility diagnosis, so turning to adoption was an easy call for us to start our family. The values that are most important to our household are love, kindness, and respect. Ensuring that, above all else, people are treated equally will be core to the teachings we share with our child. We want to encourage them to be curious and welcome diversity in all forms and to do so with a smile. Both of us love to laugh, and we want our child’s life to be filled with those unforgettable moments. To us, adoption is a beautiful journey shared by all parties involved. We are lucky to have extremely supportive friends and family to guide and join us on this journey.
