Hello & Thank You,  


First off, let's introduce ourselves. Our names are Amy, Hao, and our not so little man James Paul.  We want you to know how grateful we are to you for looking at our book. Our goal is for you to get to know who we are in an honest and real way. Adoption has a complex variety of feelings for all parties involved, especially for you. We can't begin to understand the emotional and overwhelming circumstances you have had to face in making these difficult decisions. We want you to know we support you and think that what you are doing is selfless and generous beyond comprehension.


From an early age, I knew carrying a child to full term would be highly unlikely. So, when we met, having children was a part of our early conversations. We always wanted a family and knew adoption was going to be how we would become parents. This led us to adopt our beautiful and sweet son, James. We have so much more love to share with another child, and James is waiting with open arms and a welcoming smile.


Our upbringing has significantly shaped who we are today, including our parenting style and how we plan for our future. Both of our parents are still married, and observing their relationship through both happy and challenging times has taught us the importance of commitment in maintaining a long-lasting marriage.


Our family includes no shortage of caring aunts, fun uncles, and many young cousins to grow up with. One thing you can be certain of is DOTING GRANDPARENTS!! We are blessed that we can go to anyone in our family for guidance, advice, and support. You could not ask for a more dedicated crew of family members.


We promise to you that we will honor you in the way you deserve. We will share with you the progress of your wonderful and cherished child's life. You'll be part of their life story from their earliest days to the questions that arise with growing curiosity. Your role will always be respected, valued, and cherished.


We hope that our book gives you insight into who we are as people and as a family. Our very different strengths will lead to us raising well-rounded children. Together, we will teach them the importance of acceptance and kindness to those around them while still allowing them to be independent and able to stand up for themselves.

Meet Hao

Meet Dan

Dan is the most amazing person on the planet. He is everything that I ever wanted in a husband, and our son, Garrett, is so lucky to have him as a father. He is kind, patient, and hard-working. He loves to spend his free time playing with Garrett and teaching him new things. I am 

so proud of the parent he is; Dan was meant to be a father.

    • Our Story

    For both Hao and myself, this relationship was unlike any other. We fell in love quickly. Hao said I love you after three days. I was a bit more reserved and returned the sentiment on day four. We knew we had met "the one" and got engaged after three months of dating. What can we say? When you know you know. 


    When we announced our engagement to our families they had opposite ways of showing their unapologetic love of their child. My family loved whoever I brought home, simply because I loved them. Hao's parent's wanted to ensure that whoever he was marrying was strong enough to prove their commitment. 

     

    Our wedding was more than just a ceremony. It was truly where our families came together to become a part of one another's lives. Since being wed, our families have genuinely and fully supported one another through all the challenging and celebratory elements that life brings. We have even shared Thanksgiving all together as one entire family.

    • Meet James

    James is the best little man you could ever imagine. From the moment he arrived, he has been the sweetest part of our lives. He can make hearts melt with his kind eyes and expressive face. When we go out in public, James flirts with all the ladies by putting on a show and being as handsome as possible. Who knew that "hi" could be a pickup line? We believe that one day, he may be a little heartbreaker.


    Watching James grow and discover new things has been one of our favorite parts of being parents. He loves music and dances to the rhythm with so much enthusiasm. He's now running around the house and enjoys taking walks around the neighborhood. His favorite spot is the neighborhood park where he loves using the slides and, of course, his favorite swing. We have also started taking him to the neighborhood pool with the cousin crew, and we look forward to enrolling him in swimming lessons. Because of the way he loves and plays with his cousins, we know he is going to be a fantastic big brother. We can't wait to see the love and bond he will develop with his baby brother or sister, especially since they will be so close in age.

    • Our Home

    We chose our home particularly because of its type and style. It's very warm and inviting, with lots of greenery. We have a large backyard, which is great for running and playing, and a covered patio with a built-in BBQ pit and cooking area for entertaining. We love its location and the surrounding top-notch schools, and we like that the community is on a wildlife preserve with hiking trails.

    Our community has a range of amenities, including a huge pool with a kiddie fun area and a lazy river. In the summer, we all enjoy trips to the splash pad, especially when the cousins are around. There are also two playgrounds and sports fields where James likes to play soccer. So far, it looks like he may be a goalie because he cannot keep his hands off the ball.

    • Hao's Family

    I come from a very close-knit family. My parents came over as refugees and were great role models for me and my siblings. They gave us the tools to adapt and be independent, and they taught us the importance of family togetherness. They have been married for 43 years and live in Texas. We talk every week and see each other several times a year. They love spending time with James and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new grandchild.

    My mom is strong-willed and surprisingly fast. When we were visiting my sister after she gave birth, Amy was going to get the baby, and my mom ran past her to make sure she would get to her first. Nothing comes between my mom and her grandchildren. My father is a man of principle and family closeness was always at the forefront of how he parented.


    I have three siblings: two younger brothers and my younger sister, all of whom have children that form The Cousin Crew. Since we all live in Texas, our kids get to spend a lot of time together. Whether it's enjoying summer fun at our community pool and playground, celebrating a birthday, or exchanging Christmas gifts. Every time they meet, they get so excited to see each other and play together.

    As a family, we FaceTime to stay connected with each other in between our visits. It can be a bit chaotic, with everyone talking and the kids jumping in and out of the conversation with laughter, but it's a beautiful kind of chaos.

    We spend a lot of time with my family and cherish our close bond. My parents have been married for 42 years and live very close to us.

    My mom is my best friend, and we are very much alike. She is kind, supportive, and funny. She is the real reason I found my calling as a teacher, and she showed me that education should be fun. My dad is very supportive and encouraging. We have a wonderful relationship and always make each other laugh. If I ever need help, he will be there as quickly as he can! This will be their second grandchild and they are over the moon excited to continue showering their grandchildren with love and affection!


    My older brother Daniel will definitely be the "fun" uncle. Right now, he is a little intimidated by a small toddler, which makes me laugh. He knows something on just about any topic you could think of. We have a close relationship and go to lunch once a month, in addition to seeing one another at family meals and gatherings.

    Family is the most important thing in our lives, and everyone is excited to welcome a new addition to our family!

    • Our Furr Babies

    We have two pups, Katie Bell and Patty Cake. The running joke in our family is that whenever Amy attends an adoption event, she inevitably ends up bringing home a dog. This was certainly the case when Amy met Katie Bell. She is a bit stubborn and loves attention, but she expects you to come to her. This is no problem for James because he is always ready to give his puppies plenty of love and attention. If she needs something, she will huff and let out a whine to call you over. She loves getting scratched behind her ears and will nuzzle into your hand when you hit the right spot.


    Pattycake is the newest addition to our family. She is the funniest pup and is James' best friend. Everyone falls in love with her polka-dot ears and her sweet personality. She is the embodiment of energy, always believing that everyone and everything is her friend. Once, she got excited by our neighbor's dog and hopped like a bunny across the yard, all while barking with a stick in her mouth. When she is really excited about something, she doesn't just wag her tail; her entire body exudes happiness. We call it a butt waggle.

    • We love going on adventures as a family. We live on a protected greenbelt and enjoy taking family walks so James can explore nature. We usually end up at one of the many parks in our neighborhood where James loves to swing.


    Now that James has gotten older, we have begun taking him out to socialize with other kids. He loves the indoor playgrounds. He is learning how to climb, and his favorite is the ball pit, where he likes to play with the other kids. We have a great zoo, and James loves to see all the animals. Our area also has an amazing children's museum, aquarium, and theme parks.


    We also enjoy going to different restaurants to experience dishes from a variety of cultures. So far, James has eaten it all!

    • Happy Holidays

    We love the holidays and feel very fortunate to have our families nearby to celebrate with. For New Year's Eve, we join our neighbors in lighting fireworks and watch as our community comes together to put on quite a show.

    For Easter, we gather with both sides of our family. We go to our neighborhood playground, hunt eggs with the cousins, and open Easter baskets together.

    We spend the 4th of July at my parent's lake house, BBQing hotdogs, burgers, and whatever new recipe James' grandpa wants to try. Then, we all watch the fireworks display over the lake.


    We love Halloween, especially when it comes to dressing up in coordinating family costumes! Last year, we went all out as the Ghostbusters, complete with proton packs and even Slimer. James definitely stole the show as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.


    Christmas is special because we get more time off to enjoy different fun activities with each other. We enjoy relaxing in our pajamas at my parents' house, watching Christmas movies, baking yummy desserts, and visiting Santa. Aunts, uncles, and friends all come over, and we celebrate together.

While we cannot imagine the feelings you have or will experience in your decision to create an adoption plan for your child, we hope you feel loved and supported, and we personally want you to know how brave and selfless we think you are. We are Andy and Mandy, and we currently share our home and lives with 2 very different yet equally fun and snuggly doggos, Sophie and Maxx. Andy and I have been married for 8 years and together for just over 20 years. Our early years in our relationship were spent having fun, growing as individuals and as a couple, and then establishing our careers. We knew early into our marriage we wanted a family. We tried for years to grow our family on our own, but through many different tests and treatments, we realized that may not be something we are able to do. Throughout our relationship, we had always been open to adoption; many friends and family have shared their journey with adoption and fostering, so our hearts were always open to this, and we have seen that biology doesn’t define the love and care provided to a child. Because of our family's experience in adoption and fostering, we know the importance of your child understanding their birth story, where they came from, and how truly special they and their birth family are to us. If you decide to make an adoption plan with us, we want you to know how loved not only your child will be, but also how cared for and supported you will be.     Hello & Thank You , We’re Bob and Leslie, and we are so thankful you’re taking the time to read about us and consider our family for your adoption plan. We can’t understand everything you are feeling right now, but we know that you are trying to find the right path forward for yourself and your child. We hope we can be a part of that. If you choose us to raise your child, it will be the greatest blessing of our lives. We’ve been married for sixteen years, and we’ve always wanted to grow our family. After a few unsuccessful years trying to conceive naturally, we went to a fertility clinic. We took a lot of supplements and tried multiple rounds of IUI and IVF, but they were also unsuccessful. Conceiving was not in God’s plan for us; that was difficult and sometimes hard to accept. But we both still knew that we wanted to be parents, so we began learning about adoption and speaking to friends who have adopted children, which is how we found Adoption Angels. We have also been fortunate to have friends who were adopted themselves and who have given us insight into adoption. We want to be parents because we know growing up can be so difficult. We want to be there for your child when they need support, encouragement, help, and advice. Or when they just need to know that someone cares about them, loves them, and will always be there. We want to help them discover things they love and see their own talents. We want to nurture their interests so they can pursue things they are interested in and enjoy, to help them lead a happy and fulfilling life. We will do everything we can to ensure your child grows up in a safe and supportive home, surrounded by our community of friends and family. We strongly believe in setting a good example for how to be ethical and honest, providing a good education, and the chance to travel and see the world. Finally, it is important to us that your child always knows the story of their adoption, to know where they came from and who you are as well. That’s why (if you agree as well) we believe in regularly sharing photos, emails, update letters, and annual in-person visits. We promise that if you decide we are the right choice for you and your child, they will always know that the way they came into our family was through an incredible act of sacrifice and love by you.     Hello & Thank You , First, we want to thank you so much for considering us to be the parents of your child and for taking the time to learn a little about our lives! We can't imagine what a difficult time this must be for you, though we don't know what you are feeling. However, we do know that we admire your courage and strength! We are Mike and Tiffany, a fun loving couple from Texas who have been together 10 years and married almost 9! We spent many years trying to conceive a baby on our own, and with no luck, we didn’t want to wait to grow our family any longer. We chose adoption rather than going through IVF and were blessed with our first son in 2022. The experience we have had with his adoption has been so wonderful, and we can’t wait to give him a brother or sister. We have always wanted a big family, as both of ours are relatively small, and we are so grateful for this adoption opportunity because, without it, we wouldn’t be able to have that. Tiffany is a stay-at-home mom currently and will continue to do so. She loves being able to be so involved with raising our children and growing a special bond from the beginning. Also, her parents and grandparents live next door to us, so they will always be surrounded by love and family.     Hello & Thank You , First and foremost, we are so grateful for your consideration. While we cannot imagine all that you are going through, we support you. While we may never fully know the sacrifice you are making, we are grateful. We have longed to build our family for many years, and it is truly humbling to have you get to know us. We always knew that adoption would be a part of our family, and it has proven to be the biggest blessing in our lives. After we were married, we discovered that we had unknown fertility issues, and that was our sign from the Lord to choose to grow our family through adoption. We adopted our daughter Caroline at birth almost three years ago, and she has brought so much love and joy into our home and family. Now, we have hopes to bring home another sweet blessing, and we know that Caroline will be the best big sister! Our home is full of laughter and fun, and we truly love to spend time with each other. We strive to keep the Lord at the center of it all, and we have a lot of love to share. Our families have been so supportive, and they also cannot wait to add another baby.     Hello & Thank You , Just saying thank you isn't enough for us to express our gratitude for considering us to be adoptive parents. We cannot begin to understand how difficult this decision is and that it is not taken lightly. No matter your decision, you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are Amanda and Spencer. We have been together over ten years and have been married for three. From the very beginning of our relationship, we talked about starting a family, but God had different plans for us. Unfortunately, Amanda has faced health challenges that have led to infertility, which won't allow us to have our own biological children. Adoption has touched both our lives in meaningful ways. Spencer's mother was adopted, and she is ecstatic that we are pursuing this path. In addition, Spencer has two adopted cousins, and I have one as well. We would love to share a little about ourselves, and hopefully, this book will give you a clear picture of who we are! We have grown so much during our years of marriage! Our journey has included buying a house, starting new jobs, surviving a pandemic, experiencing years of infertility and loss, going on many trips, and so much more. Throughout the highs and lows, our relationship has only become stronger. We feel very blessed to have wonderful parents and grandparents who model healthy relationships. They have taught us invaluable lessons and instilled strong morals in us. From the beginning, we have known that we wanted children and planned to have them at a young age. However, we faced three years of infertility and treatments, which ultimately resulted in loss. Going through it all taught us many important lessons and brought us even closer to each other and to God. We have always wanted to adopt, and we feel that now is the right time to do it! For us, raising a child means reading books together before bed, quality family time, lots of outdoor adventures, supporting whatever dreams he/she may have, and a home full of laughter. We value communication, kindness, and passion. We are so excited to begin our adoption journey and bring a child into our family. We are Will & Lorena, and we have been together for almost 7 years. Our path to adoption starts with Will being adopted himself at birth and from a young age, knowing that this was always going to be a part of his family plan. As we began to discuss having a family, Lorena was concerned about getting pregnant due to her infertility diagnosis, so turning to adoption was an easy call for us to start our family. The values that are most important to our household are love, kindness, and respect. Ensuring that, above all else, people are treated equally will be core to the teachings we share with our child. We want to encourage them to be curious and welcome diversity in all forms and to do so with a smile.     Hello & Thank You , Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us. While we cannot say we understand the emotions, decisions, and journey you are facing, we recognize and honor the enormous gift you are sharing with a family like ours. We are Christi and Michael. We have been together for 6 years and married for 4. When we first started dating, I shared with Michael that biological children might not be a possibility for me due to the reproductive issues I had experienced. When Michael stated without hesitation that he was open to adoption, I knew he was someone special. After trying the recommended fertility treatments to ensure we were never left wondering, “What if?” we started our adoption journey feeling relieved and confident this was the path meant for us. Part of what drew us to each other was how we viewed our families and our desires to have a family of our own. Both of our lives have been touched by adoption in various ways. Therefore, we knew we were ready to start our adoption journey. In 2023, we welcomed our daughter, Isabel (Izzy), into our lives through adoption. Izzy has brought so much joy, laughter, love, and fun to our lives ever since. We are so grateful to have been chosen as Izzy’s adoptive parents and are blessed to guide her on this journey of life. We believe it is important for your child to understand their adoption story from the beginning and look forward to letting them know how truly special they and their birth family are to us. We welcome an open adoption as we value the relationship between a child and their birth family. Children can never have too many people who love and support them. We have established a small group of friends who have young, adopted children and enjoy meeting them throughout the year. We believe it will be valuable for our children to have the opportunity to be around other adopted children throughout their lives. There are adoptees in that group, and we talk openly with them about their experience as adoptees to help us gain insight into their perspective. With a large family nearby, your child will be loved and surrounded by many family members, friends, and a faith community. In addition to providing your child with unconditional love, we hope to instill the qualities of honesty, integrity, faith, kindness, the value of family, and perseverance.
