You choose a family based on what’s important to you or, if you prefer, we can choose one for you. Choosing the right family can be the most comforting part of the adoption process. You’ll view detailed profiles of potential adoptive families who meet your criteria, and if you both agree, you’ll have the chance to meet and/or speak to one another.
Do I Get to Choose the Type of Adoption I Want?
As the birth mother, you decide which type of adoption you’re most comfortable with. You and your counselor will discuss how you envision your adoption plan. By doing so, you will start to see what type of relationship (semi-open to open) you would like with the family during your pregnancy and after placing.
