Taking the First Step
Making the initial phone call to the agency can be an intimidating first step, but our staff realizes this and will work with you to make you feel as comfortable as possible. We understand that no birth mother is the same and our counselors look forward to meeting you to familiarize themselves with your unique situation.
Contact us 24 hours a day,7 days a week at (210) 227-2229 or Toll Free at 1-866-326-2229.
The next step will be coming to the agency to fill out a birth parent packet. If you are unable to come to the agency for any reason, we can send your birth parent packet in the mail. The birth parent packet will help us meet your specific needs and allow us to discuss your individual adoption plan.
This first meeting is purely informational and you are not required to commit to anything. We believe understanding the entire process is essential to making an informed decision and want to provide you with that support and guidance so that you can decide what plan is best for you and your child.
After meeting with a counselor, we can assist you in setting up an appointment with a doctor, if you do not have one already, who will provide the best prenatal care for you and your child. We can also help you apply for Medicaid and other assistants programs.
You have the opportunity to choose the adoptive family for your child. You will view profiles of some of the world's best families. These profiles will provide you with the necessary information to ensure that your child will have the best life possible. After you have made your choice, you have the opportunity to meet the adoptive family in person or over the phone, if mutually desired.
Finally, we spend a lot of time getting to know you and building your trust in order to make this process as smooth as possible. We accomplish this through counseling to help you make a decision that is best for you. We will be there for you throughout your pregnancy, placement of your child and long after the adoption process. We will assist you with your living and medical needs and continue support after placement in order to get you back on your feet.
